MAD HATTER'S TEA PARTY LAUNCHES ENTREPRENEUR'S BEST SELLER

Michael Hill’s latest book “Toughen Up” is providing Cure Kids with a valuable source of funds. The best seller launched in June underlines Michael’s philosophy on life along with a strong message on how to survive in tough times.

Michael, who was named last year as New Zealand’s Entrepreneur of the Year, has committed the net proceeds from the sale of the book to Cure Kids, further cementing his association with the charity.

“Cure Kids makes some remarkable research achievements and I am very happy to be aligned with their work which aims to improve the quality of life for so many young New Zealanders. Providing proceeds from my book is an appropriate way for me to offer the charity on going support.”

During Michael’s national launch of “Toughen Up” he appeared on TVNZ’s Breakfast. To highlight his links with Cure Kids, a Mad Hatter’s Tea party was staged on television with Michael as the Mad Hatter and CEO Vicki Lee in the role of Alice.

“I wanted to do something outside the square and the idea of the Mad Hatter’s tea party was to provide some fun for children who live such tough lives,” he says. They loved every minute of it.”

Vicki says it was a novel way to promote the book and raise the profile of Cure Kids.

“We gathered up several of our young ambassadors for the tea party and had a ball,” says Vicki. “It was a unique experience for the kids and highlighted the fantastic support Michael provides for Cure Kids.”
